Paige brought joy to our lives. She was a happy baby from the beginning, always smiling, dancing and as relaxed as could be. I always commented on how blessed we were to have such an easy baby. She was sweet beyond words. On February 15, 2013 Paige’s life took a dramatic turn, she was diagnosed with a cancer called Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Paige endured painful and invasive procedures for months that at times left her in the ICU. Paige’s cancer did not respond well to treatment and by July 2013 our family moved from the British Columbia Children’s Hospital to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice for palliative care. Less than six months from the day she was diagnosed, on August 6, 2013 our beautiful Paige was given wings.

The Paige Foundation was born out of the desperate and direct need for pediatric cancer research funding. As a mom in crisis, I poured over research throughout the night while my baby girl slept, and I learnt a harrowing fact. There are wonderful doctors and scientists doing great work to save our children, but their efforts are not being funded adequately. Childhood cancers are the #1cause of death of children by disease - more than asthma, cystic fibrosis, diabetes and pediatric AIDS combined. Pediatric cancer receives only 4% of cancer funding dollars from healthcare funding in the US-the world’s largest funder of research. The shortfall of cancer research funding for our children is astonishing and it’s preventable , that is why we are doing what we are doing. Learn the facts here.

What’s New

The Paige Foundation is a REGISTERED Canadian Charity.

The 5th Annual Princess and Superhero Family Day Skate was held on Monday February 12, 2018 at Royal LePage Place. It was a great success raising over $1150 for pediatric cancer research.
This site is a work in progress at the moment, so please giggle if a link doesn't work. Paige would like that.
